Head Counselor and Founder
Judith Winters is the Head Counselor and founder of JWCC. She has been working with students from Greater China for more than 20 years. With a reputation for excellence spanning North America, Asia, and Europe, Judith has worked as a college counselor in public, private, and parochial schools, and as a counselor for international students in the University of Pennsylvania UniConn Program.
She is based in Connecticut, close to the birthplace of the American academic tradition in New England. As such, she has strong relationships with many of the nearby prep schools, colleges, and universities. She completed her undergraduate education at Hamilton College and holds a Masters in Counseling from Central Connecticut University.
West Coast Representative and Head of Relationships
Dr. Greg Smith is the West Coast Representative and Head of Relationships for JWCC. Greg earned his Ph.D. in Russian and European History from Stanford University.
After his time at Stanford, Greg spent the next 25 years in admissions and enrollment departments; specifically, as Associate Director of Admissions at Stanford and Associate Vice President in the California State University system, the largest group of universities in the United States. Leading the west coast team, Greg is based in San Francisco. He combines a unique understanding of the highest levels of academic achievement with his trademark warmth. Through his professional experience, he has developed strong relationships with admissions offices and is well known in the higher education circles.
Managing Director and Senior Counselor
Chris Winters is the Managing Director and a senior counselor at JWCC. In 2009, he founded FarView Academic Consulting, the Mainland China branch of Hong Kong’s JWCC.
At FarView, he developed curricula for students and schools throughout China designed to help students maximize their unique talents. He now leads counseling from his base in Vancouver and manages all boarding school applicants. A graduate from the School of Architecture at Cornell University, he is an expert in helping students develop and present their creative talents. Prior to Cornell, Christopher graduated from several boarding schools beginning with Indian Mountain School, the Peddie School, and Dulwich College in London, as a recipient of the the English Speaking Union Grant. Through these experiences, he gained an extensive knowledge of boarding schools that he shares with his students.
Huihui Wang is the General Manager of JWCC. As a native Cantonese and Mandarin speaker based in Hong Kong, she manages communication between our counselors, students, and their parents.
She has unique personal insight into the international application process, as both of her Hong Kong-raised sons later attended Claremont McKenna College. She completed her undergraduate degree in China and received an MBA from Boston University. After her time at BU, she gained extensive professional experience in the international private sector. Huihui excels at applying her personal and professional experience to support our clients.
